Those who could not control their mutations would spread mental plague and radiation. This harmed normal people and threatened surviving humans. To deal with this pollution, the walled city made a cleanup department. They hired people who could control spiritual energy. The protagonist, Lu Xin, applied for the most dangerous cleanup job.

Story: A dazed Ning Yuan finds himself imprisoned by a menacing gangster named He Zhiyang along with hysterical doctor Su Jin after narrowly avoiding being captured. As he comes to terms with the group's newfound desperate situation, that they are trapped on an isolated island that harbors dangerous viruses, horrifying mutations, and hostile tribes, this proves to be the least of his worries.
